8 years ago, when Micah was 4 feet tall and ? 60 pounds ?, he took his first windsurfing lesson despite the club only having boards and sails designed for people at least foot taller and twice his weight. What a sport! We sailed around for an hour or so, as I recall.

Thanks, Barbara! He loved windsurfing with you. I have a pic of him standing fearlessly at the very front of the board, this huge sail behind him, arms stretched out to the side, beaming.

I was on the volleyball team with Micah. I remember when he came to practice every day with a smile on his face. We would warmup together sometimes, and every time the ball touched the floor he would say “my bad”. Even if I was the one who messed up. One practice we had a competition for who can do a plank the longest. Micah went against a couple of people, including varsity players, he was shaking the whole time but stuck it out and won the competition. This is how i remember Micah, as a strong, courageous, friend.

Samuel – thank you for sharing your memory of Micah! I can totally see him saying, “My bad.” He started doing planks a while ago, with my friend, Donna. I know he wouldn’t want anyone to beat him on that feat. He was so determined and persistent.
